Hello and welcome to Oven Magic.
You are probably reading this blog post because you’re looking for a replacement oven door seal for your Redfyre Oven Door Seal C610851 ? We can Help.. You have probably read and looked at all the other links, sent emails and made phone calls and not had a reply, Those that have answered have probably not given you much information on which oven door seal to go for, and as far as my research has gone, it has turned up blanks. Nobody would commit to a size of Rope seal that would fit and do the job.
Hopefully, this blog post might help you; we went for a 13 mm braided ceramic rope seal. We measured around the oven door the sides, top, and bottom around 1270mm total length; Note rope seal is usually sold in 1-metre sizes, so we ordered a 2-metre length. The pack that we bought came with enough tape to go around the ends of the rope to protect it from coming apart.
The sealant that we used Is tried and tested. Bond it HT30 and suitable for oven door fixtures and glass; it will take 24 hours to cure/set. Before you could use the oven, We used this sealant all the time and had a tube open, so we used it for this job.
Method
It’s much easier if you remove the door by lifting it carefully and placing it on a towel, then remove the old oven door seal And any old sealant. Once the area is nice and clean, offer up your new rope seal in its 2 m length starting at the bottom centre, then dry run the seal around The door and then cut neatly at the bottom; I used a sharp Stanley blade to cut it straight through, then wrap the black tape around both sides of the exposed cut rope.
You can then add your heat-proof sealant around the cleaned cavity, leave it for about 10 minutes, and it will start to skin over, Starting at the base of the door at the bottom of the door in the centre pushing your new seal and work your way round going into the corners pressing gently, So the seal looks even.
You can then put your door back on the cooker and close it gently. You may need to adjust your striker door catch slightly so the door seal is not compressed too much.
After testing how the door closes, you can then leave the door open for 24 hours.
Here are a few links to products that we have used. We do not get any commission for these products and you and you may be able to find cheaper products elsewhere so be sure to look around. Good luck and thanks for reading
